LANO in Baton Rouge
The Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO) began as an initiative of the Council for A Better Louisiana (CABL) in 1997. The Frost Foundation and the Foundation for the Mid South made the initial investments, and the Community
Foundation of Shreveport-Bossier, Baton Rouge Area Foundationand Greater New Orleans Foundation have been instrumental in supporting LANO's development.
LANO was the first organization in the state to be certified by the National Standards for Excellence Institute. LANO has become a leading provider of nonprofit programs and services throughout the state and remains dedicated to serving the nonprofit sector of Louisiana with a commitment to excellence in nonprofit management and community accountability.
Additionally, LANO Baton Rouge is a cooperating collective for the Foundation Center online funders database, housing two computers that are available for public access to the most updated resources on grant funding in the nation.
