LANO Header

Welcome from the President & CEO

Ann Silverberg Williamson, President & CEOLouisiana is an extraordinary state, rich in natural resources, rich in the diversity of its culture and rich in the beauty of its surroundings. But none of this is nearly as important as the quality of its people, a talented, innovative, caring, resilient community that often becomes, as the LANO mission states, a powerful force for good.

Thanks to the many nonprofit organizations, partner entities and individuals who have contributed to the success of LANO, we are daily becoming a state that is better equipped to harness the many and varied gifts of our people as we seek to give every Louisianan a chance to prosper. By joining our voices through advocacy, becoming more effective organizations through technical assistance and training and learning to capitalize on our resources, we are strengthening the fiber of our collective interests.

Still, the challenges facing Louisiana are many and the ability of our people to reach their full potential is too often limited by the ravages of poverty and a lack of access to resources that could make a positive difference. LANO must play a role in changing this reality. By building the capacity of our nonprofit organizations, LANO is well-positioned to address the many needs of our people and to improve the quality of life for all our state’s citizens. That only can be accomplished with the support and enthusiasm of our member organizations. I invite you to use this Web site as a resource, to offer your suggestions and ideas and to learn from fellow members.

It is also vital that LANO broadens its reach by engaging more people and more organizations in our effort. We all benefit when more interests are brought into the conversation and we all grow stronger when we understand the needs and strengths of our varied communities. The hard-working members of LANO are testament to the value of this effort and we encourage all those interested in a better Louisiana to join us.

Please feel free to contact us with your ideas, your suggestions and your questions. LANO believes in Louisiana because all of you have believed in us. We pledge to do our best work on behalf of this great state because its people deserve nothing less. Join us as we dream big dreams and make them happen.

Sincerely,

Ann Silverberg Williamson
