BATON ROUGE, LA (July 24, 2013) –It was standing-room only at the Capital Area United Way Annual Meeting Monday, as guests welcomed the organization’s new President/CEO Darrin Goss, Sr. and honored those receiving awards and who have served on the Board of Directors for the past year.
Capital Area United Way awarded the Big Five Awards – the five top honors given to individuals and organizations in the community for their mission, volunteerism, media support, campaign excellence, and staff dedication over the last year. More than 120 representatives from businesses, government and non-profit organizations gathered together to hear about the new direction of Capital Area United Way under Goss and Scott Berg, the 2013-14 Board Chair.
