A local school will receive a helping hand from Whole Foods Market, WVLA NBC 33 News, and the Capital Area Corporate Recycling Council (CACRC) organizations this year. The organic supermarket chain, news station and nonprofit are teaming up to present "Tools for Schools," a project that will award a computer lab to an East Baton Rouge Parish school.
Fifteen refurbished LCD computer systems will be awarded to the school that receives the most votes via the NBC33 "Tools for Schools" website. Participants include: LaBelle Aire Elementary; Park Elementary; Broadmoor Middle School, and Windbourne Elementary.
Supporters of the participating schools can vote for their favorite location by going online to www.nbc33tv.com, clicking on the "Tools for Schools" logo on the main page, and following the voting prompts.
Each supporter can vote once during a 24-hour period and every day during the contest. The contest will begin Sept. 20, and voting will end on Sept. 28. A winner will be announced the week of Sept. 30.
