Affordable Care Act Workshop - Get your questions answered!

Posted By Heather Otten, Capital Area United Way, Monday, October 14, 2013

How will the Affordable Care Act affect you and your family?

On Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at 5:00pm, Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge will be hosting a workshop at Baton Rouge First Church of the Nazarene to guide participants through the details of the Affordable Care Act.

This workshop, entitled "How Will the Affordable Care Act Affect Your and Your Family?” will be facilitated by Jamie Tindle, Executive Director of Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge (FHFGBR), and features guest speaker, Michael Bertaut, Certified Health Consultant and Professional of the Academy of Healthcare Management.

Already 2 weeks into the open enrollment process, the Affordable Care Act is still wrought with questions and ambiguity. We hope to shed some light on questions that FHFGBR has received, including:

· What does the new law mean for me?

· Will my premium rates go up?

· What are my new benefits?

Though FHFGBR’s primary focus on workshops is always to help individuals with disabilities and their families, we are inviting all individuals of all abilities to this FREE workshop. RSVP is requested: or 225-216-7474.

Please share this with your members and constituents.  We are looking forward to providing an informative workshop to all of our community members!

Families Helping Families of Greater Baton Rouge serves as a valuable resource center in a statewide network of Families Helping Families located across Louisiana. FHFGBR is committed to helping families who have members with disabilities as well as self-advocates. FHFGBR provides information, referral, education, training and parent-to-parent support for disability issues to individuals living in the parishes of East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Iberville, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Point Coupee and Livingston. A disability may be physical, mental, emotional, behavioral and/or academic. Families Helping Families staff can answer questions and provide support, resources and referrals.
