Opt-Out Deadline Approaching for State Unemployment

Posted By Matthew Mullenix, Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, Saturday, October 19, 2013

LANO has partnered with the Unemployment Services Trust (UST) since 2003 to help members lower the cost of unemployment at their nonprofit.

If you've been thinking about leaving the state unemployment insurance (UI) tax system, it's not too late. But time is ticking for 501(c)(3)s who want to save money by directly reimbursing the state for their unemployment claims in 2014.

Founded by nonprofits for nonprofits, UST is a grantor Trust, owned by its members, that has spent the past 30 years helping members carefully manage their claims costs through ongoing education, expert claims management, and reserve building.

LANO members who are eligible for this program save an average of $3,300 per year in unemployment costs.

Request a Savings Evaluation here and a UST Unemployment Cost Advisor will run a free 2-year savings projection for you.

Savings Evaluations due before November 15
