Haiti Mission, Inc., of Thibodaux, Louisiana has as its primary focus a commitment to provide basic humanitarian aid to numerous villages in the region of Jeremie, Haiti. The first and foremost goal is to provide potable water within 500 feet of every family in this area. Other projected activities include initiatives in the fields of education, health, improved housing, and other basic material needs.
A long range vision is to help the villagers to establish independent economic development by providing them with agricultural business opportunities utilizing their own native resources, which may include no-interest business loans and vocational skills that will enable them to lead a worthy life on the material, social, cultural, and spiritual level.
We are currently seeking individuals familiar with grant writing and the range of potential funding sources, such as organizations, businesses and foundations that would be interested to support the type work HMI does in Haiti, which consists of:
a. Drilling fresh water wells
b. Building houses
c. Elementary education
d. School children feeding programs
e. Various types of animal husbandry
In addition, we are looking for a willing and qualified web development volunteer to upgrade the HMI website and maximize its search engine optimization.
All interested volunteers or donors, please contact Joanna Cooley at: firstname.lastname@example.org
