LANO Network Unaffected by "Heartbleed" Internet Bug

Recent news about the "Heartbleed" Internet virus has prompted numerous warnings about the safety of personal information on various social media and commercial websites.

The company that provides LANO's member network infrastructure,, through which users purchase event tickets, access member directories and download files and information, today affirmed that members' data are not at risk and that there is no need to change passwords or take other precaution when using the LANO website.

According to their press release on 4/14/2014:


"Last week a group of security experts and researchers uncovered and disclosed a significant security flaw named Heartbleed that can make certain Website users’ personal information vulnerable to attack. Up to two-thirds of Websites utilize the affected technology, called OpenSSL, and the flaw has many of them working diligently to fix the problem and restore security.

"We’ve heard from many of our customers and understand that there’s a high level of anxiety due to the Heartbleed bug and the potential vulnerability of data. We have conducted due diligence on our systems and are sure that those using the platform are not at risk..."
