It's no coincidence our sector is looking at redefining its business models when 88% of nonprofits in 2012 were faced with increases in the demand for their services despite 57% barely having enough cash on hand to last them three months. 1

In "Pride & Prejudice: (What) Can Nonprofits Learn From the For-Profit World?” by Richard Dare last May in The Huffington Post, I was intrigued by his challenge to fellow nonprofits...

Pro bono services: Make up 20% of your budget

Posted By Denise McMahan, CausePlanet, Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Author Aaron Hurst says there are people in the world who love what they do and do it exceedingly well, people who want to use their skills to give back to the community. This is pro bono. By definition, pro bono is Latin, meaning "for the public good.” Hurst defines it as free, donated professional services to a nonprofit to further its mission.

Hurst's goal in publishing Powered by Pro Bono is to revitalize a time-honored tradition as well as give the pro bono partnership a field-tested structure so you can expect reliable outcomes...

Find out how great nonprofits save 20% of their budget using Hurst's winning framework for pro bono at the Page to Practice blog.
