Allan I. Bergman is the CEO of HIGH IMPACT Consulting, a national firm he established in 2010. He is a nationally recognized thought leader in influencing the development of federal and state policy reflecting "best practice” supports and services for persons with disabilities. He also is a national expert in Medicaid policy and practice regarding individuals with disabilities and their families and has extensive knowledge of all components of the Affordable Care Act.
Allan's career includes significant leadership positions within local, state and national non-profit agencies and 25 years of continuous family and self-advocate leadership training in Partners in Policymaking programs across the country. Since 2010, Allan has provided consultation, training and technical assistance in fourteen states, about 50% of this effort in the area of managed long term supports and services for people with disabilities. He is also under contract as a subject matter expert for the U. S. Department of Labor on Employment First and Rebalancing State day and employment supports into the "most integrated setting."
Earlier in his career Allan held several leadership positions with United Cerebral Palsy in Washington, D.C. including Director of Government Relations, Director of State-Federal Relations, and Director of the Institute on Disability and Managed Care. Allan also served as the President and CEO of the Brain Injury Association of America. Allan also brings a personal perspective to his work.
He is the father of an adult daughter who is competitively employed and lives in her own apartment with supports in a Chicago suburb. Dina lives with mild intellectual disabilities. He also is the step father of an adult daughter living in a two bedroom apartment with full time supports and participating in integrated day supports and supported employment in Chicago. Mindy lives with multiple disabilities secondary to Rett Syndrome.
Jason Sabo is a consultant and speaker on political and legislative strategy, high impact philanthropy, and nonprofit effectiveness. He specializes in assisting organizations develop advocacy strategies for challenging fiscal and political circumstances. Jason is the Founder of Frontera Strategy, a public affairs consulting firm serving nonprofits, philanthropists, and others interested in advancing sound public policies.
He has advised advocates in numerous states and has trained thousands of nonprofit and foundation professionals. Prior to launching Frontera, Jason worked at the Texas Capitol as a policy analyst and lobbyist for nonprofit organizations, including United Way of Texas. He has been named Advocate of the Year by the Houston and Austin Associations for the Education of Young Children and is a Fellow of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest and the Center for Public Policy Dispute Resolution. Jason was named a Public Interest Rising Star by OMB Watch in Washington, D.C.
