This community education event is co-sponsored by the Mental Health Association for Greater Baton Rouge, LSU School of Social Work, the EBR Parish Coroner and Capital Area Human Services District.


 

There will be discussions on the mental health crisis affecting our community. We will feature testimonials from individuals and have a Q & A discussion panel featuring community leaders, mental health professionals and other stakeholders. CEU's will be available for social workers.

Objectives to be accomplished:

  • Participant will have greater understanding of local and state mental health services
  • Participants will learn to recognize current gaps and challenges in the mental health continuum of services and potential impact on our community
  • Participants will learn strategies to engage and advocate for mental health services
     

Continuing education credits are approved for:

Social Workers (2 hours of credit)
