Keynote speaker – Casey Gerald, Yale College and Harvard Business School grad, Founder and CEO of MBA’s Across America, and recognized by Fast Company as one of the “Most Creative People in Business” is a voice of the millennial generation for business, entrepreneurship and finding your purpose. Gerald will address “Harnessing Failure to Solve the Big Problems of our Time.”
Other recognized speakers from across the State of Louisiana include CEO Student of the Year Kenny Nguyen, CEO of Waitr, Inc Chris Meaux, and motivational speaker and author Nomica Guillory. They are among the more than 14 speakers who will share their experience and expertise on a range of topics including leadership, entrepreneurship, professional development and the importance of failure in success.
This year’s Summit kick-off will feature Lafayette’s first PechaKucha Night themed “Breaking the Surface.” PechaKucha Night was devised in Tokyo in February 2003 as an event for presenters to meet, connect, and show their work in public. With this fast-paced, concise format of 20 slides for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total), presenters will engage attendees in the first of a quarterly citywide series organized locally by Wanderlust productions.
Attendees – veteran, aspiring leaders and young professionals spanning countless disciplines will convene to explore how to catapult themselves to the next level of greatness. This event is not just for Lafayette residents; it’s inclusive. Gulf Coast Young Professionals Summit was created to educate, stretch and equip young professionals by providing an engaging, interactive and comprehensive learning culture. The vision of the Summit is to produce action-oriented thoughts leaders who are poised to lead locally, regionally and nationally. Registration is now open.
