About the Presenter:

Maryann D. Mason/ Maryann currently works as a Behavioral Health Liaison at Amerigroup, Louisiana, participating in the integration of physical health and behavioral health within the Healthy Louisiana Medicaid plan. Initially an advocate first for her family, she continues to promote partnerships between providers and "systems" to increase the empowerment youth and families in the community. Maryann has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Gwynedd Mercy University and a Masters Degree from the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP). A nationally certified parent support provider (CPSP) through the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health (FFCMH), in Louisiana Maryann is an experienced certified peer recovery specialist for adults. (CPS, CRPS) An active facilitator and trainer of several established recovery and support educational workshops, which including several NAMI Signature Programs, Team Up for Families and Restorative Parenting, she volunteers for CASA of Baton Rouge - Louisiana's Court Appointed Special Advocate program. Maryann is a current co-chair of the Louisiana Behavioral Health (Block Grant) Advisory Council. Serving on local, regional and state councils and committees continues to broaden her scope of knowledge on issues and potential solutions for challenges presented by individual citizens and families. When not working, Maryann enjoys traveling with her spouse and spending time with her extended family.
