According to the Center's recent survey on equity, diversity and inclusion, board diversity and inclusion was ranked in the top three of most-requested capacity building topics. NPQ's article, Making Your Board More Inclusive: Two Cases, offers guidance around strategies for diversifying your board and how it ultimately affects your organization.

Then bring it back to the staff level during the third webinar in our Walking the Talk series, Are We Confronting the Nonprofit Racial Leadership Gap?, on March 21 at 10 a.m. Building Movement Project (BMP) co-director Frances Kunreuther will discuss Race to Lead: Confronting the Nonprofit Racial Leadership Gap, the first report in BMP's Race to Lead series that explores why there are so few leaders of color in the nonprofit sector. Based on results from a national survey of over 4,000 nonprofit staff members, the report finds that people of color and white respondents are equally qualified, and that people of color are more likely to be interested in becoming a nonprofit leader. The discussion will also include the report on the LGBTQ subsample, Working at the Intersections: LGBTQ Nonprofit Staff and the Racial Leadership Gap.

Registration is $35 for Members and $50 for all others (if cost is a barrier to participate, contact Bridgette Burge). Register now.
