BATON ROUGE—The website of the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations, LANO.org, now offers a free directory allowing its 11,500 members to find in-network business consultants in over two dozen fields, including strategic planning, marketing and legal services.
"Nonprofits frequently hire consultants, trainers and service providers from the business world," said LANO VP, Matt Mullenix. "What's new is a network that lets them find and contact each other as fellow members in a no-pressure environment."
Corporate members of LANO can opt in to the new directory by adjusting a setting within their online profiles and indicating which services they offer. Nonprofit professionals in the network can query the listings by service category, city or zip code. The database provides direct access to full member profiles that meet the selected need.
Prominent firms now offering service to LANO members include I-MPACT, owned by Matthew Rachleff, recently featured among 225 Magazine's 2013 "People to Watch," and Covalent Logic, co-founded by Stafford Kendall, a Baton Rouge Business Report "Young Businessperson of the Year" and "Forty Under 40" honoree.
The directory lists more than 25 consulting firms at present, and LANO invites all companies statewide that offer training or consulting to nonprofit clients to join the Association and make their services available through its peer-to-peer network.
