The 2011 Louisiana Legislative Session opened April 25 and will adjourn no later than June 23.
While you focus on your mission, LANO is at the Capitol keeping track of issues that will affect your nonprofit or constituency this year and for years to come.
Stay tuned to LANO for weekly updates on bills under consideration and other public policy news as it happens.
The first update is now available exclusively to LANO Members and Friends at the 2011 Legislative Session Updates blog, a weekly column written by Ashley Herad, LANO’s Civic Engagement and Policy Director. Herad is a state policy veteran, a registered Louisiana lobbyist and a Fellow of the Center for Lobbying in the Public Interest.
Herad’s first session update outlines three proposed Constitutional Amendments that threaten the nonprofit property tax exemption in Orleans Parish, and potentially statewide.
