|LANO: Transformational Leadership Retreat For Nonprofit CEOs|
LANO will host a special event exclusively for nonprofit CEOs and Executive Directors that have had a minimum of 10 years nonprofit experience.
The retreat will take place April 4- 5, 2017. This retreat will be in an intimate group setting outside of Alexandria, Louisiana, creating a relaxed and safe space for participants to have open and honest conversations regarding nonprofit management, personal development and the legacies they wish to leave with their organizations.
What is transformational leadership?
James McGregor Burns introduced the concept of transformational leadership in his 1978 book, “Leadership”. He defined transformational leadership as a process where “leaders and their followers raise one another to higher levels of morality and motivation."
Bernard M. Bass later developed the concept of transformational leadership in his 1985 book, “Leadership and Performance Beyond Expectations”. He defines a transformational leader as one who:
LANO and will hold a two-day training for experienced nonprofit leaders from across the state. Leaders will need to have at minimum ten years’ experience in the nonprofit sector. Participants will apply through a competitive process.
Our goals of this retreat are to:
1. Meet experienced Executives where they are in career and provide an inspirational and encouraging learning experience
2. Help address future transitions in leadership within their nonprofit organizations
