Give One Day... Helping Protect Children

Posted By Susan Shaffette, Team Dynamics LLC, Friday, March 7, 2014

The Louisiana Host Committee for the National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect is working with the planning team to gather session monitors for the various workshops that will be held during the conference. These are very short and easy tasks, but require many people to accomplish the goal.

You can help us by signing up to be a room monitor for the conference – for one session or several. Your assistance makes it possible for Child Abuse and Neglect Professionals and volunteers to participate in important educational workshops. The application of new knowledge increases the potential to help protect our children.

Please consider giving one day for this project! The conference is April 30-May 2 and will be at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans. You can sign up at: http://tinyurl.com/NCCANvolunteer.

All volunteers will be entered into drawings for door prizes.  If you are a social worker or attorney, you can also gain CEU or CLE hours for your attendance time!

For more information, you can contact Susan Delle Shaffette, Louisiana Host Committee Chair at susan@teamdynamicsweb.com or at 985-624-3514.

Looking forward to seeing you in New Orleans!

NCCAN in New Orleans and Seeking Volunteers

Posted By Susan Shaffette, Team Dynamics LLC, Monday, February 17, 2014

The 19th National Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect is the nation’s premier training and technical assistance event for the child maltreatment field.  Check back frequently for updates on the exciting educational and networking opportunities that are part of this biannual event. The event will be on April 30th to May 2nd. It is in Jazz Fest time, so there will be some issues finding hotels if you are coming from outside New Orleans or commuting distance. It is being held at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans on the corner of Loyola and Poydras.

Conference Cost

There is no registration fee to attend the Conference.

Volunteering

The Louisiana Host Team is a collaborative group of volunteers from many sectors who are working to develop the volunteer teams needed for a major conference. We are seeking more volunteers to help us - primarily with the moderating roles. Do you want to hear national speakers on key issues impacting children and families? If you do, we need you! You can sign up at www.latwc.com. There are over 1400 registrations for the conference already – we need our Louisiana folks to help us with manpower.

Questions?

Please call Susan Delle Shaffette at 985-624-3514 or send an email to susan@teamdynamicsweb.com
