Funding Opportunities Remain in BP Oil Spill Settlement

Posted By Lewis Kahn, Law Firm of Kahn Swick & Foti, Monday, October 13, 2014

The law firm of Kahn Swick & Foti has dedicated significant resources to handle the evolving BP claims process. KSF attorneys work closely with Certified Public Accountants who have valuable experience with the claims process. KSF is a national law firm based in Madisonville LA that has recovered over $200 million in complex commercial litigation in recent years.

KSF has the skill and ability to help your organization receive the highest possible BP Nonprofit Claim.

NEED AN EVENT SPONSOR?  KSF would like to hear from you!  We proudly support nonprofit events and are always looking for opportunities to share news about the potential of the Settlement process to help nonprofits.

Supporting AFP of Greater New Orleans on December 11!

Charities across the Gulf Coast were among the first to respond to the historic human and environmental disaster that was the 2010 BP Oil Spill.

Hundreds of organizations bore immediate, unexpected expenses, and thousands suffered from the region-wide economic decline that followed.

MANY STILL DON'T KNOW:

As a result of a settlement in the BP Oil Spill civil action, almost $8 billion has been put into a fund to pay nonprofits that suffered a decline in their business during 2010 compared to earlier years.

Financial impact from the spill was broad-based and evidenced in every sector. Even if your organization was not directly linked to the spill, any decline in 2010 may mean it is eligible for a claim. All types of nonprofits are included in the BP Settlement.

FUNDS ARE MOVING AGAIN.

Although court proceedings since the settlement have occasionally interrupted payment of claims, funding to nonprofit claimants within the affected Gulf Coast region is now resuming. Opportunity remains to confirm the extent of the spill's impact on your charity and to establish an official claim.

There is no charge and no obligation for claims assessment. If a positive determination is made from a brief review of your organization's financial documents, your claim can be included in the official settlement process.

KSF's service fees constitute a small percentage of the determined claim amount, and no fees will be assessed until an award is successfully received by your organization.

NEW RESOURCE AVAILABLE:

To participate in this limited-time opportunity, please visit our new Nonprofit BP Claims website and indicate your charity's interest in a free assessment.  Our staff will respond as soon as we receive your contact.

...KSF would like to thank all of the nonprofit professionals and volunteers who provided swift and selfless aid to the people, animals and environment endangered by this sadly preventable disaster. Please contact us today.
