STAR is offering this continuing education workshop to social workers to increase knowledge of sexual trauma. Space is limited. Each participant must register separately.

According to Federal and State Law, sexual assault survivors have several rights and protections.


This workshop will teach practitioners about the many rights of survivors. Cost of workshop is $35 and has been approved for 3 general contact hours from NASW.





Morgan Lamandre, JD

Director of Advocacy


Morgan first got involved with STAR as a volunteer hospital advocate in 2007. Morgan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from LSU in Sociology and minored in Political Science and Women’s and Gender studies. In 2012, she earned a Juris Doctorate from Southern University Law Center.


Morgan has experience working in numerous women-centered areas, including the Capital Area Family Violence Intervention Center (CAFVIC) in Baton Rouge. Her interests include animal rescue and she has been a foster mom for Yorkie Haven Rescue since 2009. She also welcomed her first child in 2012.
