The Institute for Local Innovations (ILI) fully supports the growth of economically and socially healthy communities by helping to support community based organizations be more stable and building their capacity to deliver services. Thus, we are excited to host ILI OpenS.O.U.R.C.E (Sharing of Understanding, Resources, and Connections Equitably) for the benefit of people and places.

Each year, over a billion dollars is invested into thousands of community-based organizations (CBOs) across the United States, which work to solve difficult challenges facing individuals and families in their communities. These investors include foundations, private sector corporations, as well as public sector and individual donors. Within each of these investor organizations one question dominates, “Do community based organizations [nonprofits] have the capacity to effectively address the challenges facing communities, families and individuals?”

One of the pillars of ILI is to help strengthen the community development service field by helping increase the stability and capacity of CBOs. OpenSOURCE is one of several activities the ILI is implementing to achieve this goal.“ILI supports the transformation of communities by innovative community-based organizations”For more information about the Institute for Local Innovations, Inc. please visit
