Schedule at a Glance 10:00-10:30am Sign-in 10:30 -1:00pm Call to Action, Advocacy Training 1:00-2:00pm Lunch and Press Conference/Rally 2:00-4:00pm Legislative Visits and Awareness Activities Our main public policy initiative will be the support of SB 94, to enact the Uniform Adult Guardianship and Protective Proceedings Jurisdiction Act (UAGPPJA). UAGPPJA enables courts in different states to communicate with each other about adult guardianship and determine the appropriate court to oversee the guardianship process. Currently, the U.S. has more than 50 different adult guardianship systems, and no channel exists for courts in the state of Louisiana to communicate with courts in different states about adult guardianship jurisdiction issues. If you have any questions about this year’s Advocacy Day or any state policy activities, please contact Brian Berrigan by email at or by phone at 504.613.6505 ext. 8040.
