Deadline is August 26 to Apply for GNOF’s IMPACT 2011 grants.

$600,000 available to address community needs in New Orleans.

Nonprofits in the Greater New Orleans region can apply for a Greater New Orleans Foundation IMPACT 2011 grant between now and August 26, 2011.

The IMPACT Program is the Foundation’s largest discretionary grant program. In partnership with its generous donors, the Foundation invests in highly effective nonprofit organizations in the following four categories:
  • Arts and culture;
  • Education;
  • Health and human services;
  • Youth development.
The application is a two-step process: Nonprofits first submit a two to three-page letter of intent along with requested attachments. GNOF* program staff will review all letters of intent and will contact those organizations that are invited to submit a full application for funding.

Awards are expected to be announced in December 2011. Nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations that serve the Greater New Orleans region are eligible to apply. Organizations that are not tax-exempt but have a fiscal agent relationship with a 501(c) (3) organization  are also eligible.

GNOF’s region incorporates the following parishes: Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, and Washington.
