A new Public Policy Update is now available to Members and Friends of LANO at the Association website.

Today's installment alerts nonprofits to a potential threat to the federal charitable giving deduction now under consideration by policymakers in the Congressional Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction.

LANO urges its members to sign on to a letter drafted by our national affiliate organization in D.C. defending the deduction.  The letter states in part, "It is imperative that Congress make no changes to the charitable giving incentive that threaten the ability of nonprofit organizations to serve those most in need and to continue to strengthen our communities."

Links to the letter and to a sign-up form are included in the Public Policy Update.

Also in this issue:
  • Nonprofit Property Tax Exemption in Louisiana
  • Continued Federal Funding of the Nurse Family Partnership in Louisiana
  • Hear from the Candidates for Upcoming Elections
